Richard K. Chak

Richard K. Chak, 93, of Storrs, husband of the late Mildred (Warren) Chak, passed away October 30, 2012 at home. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT on March 4, 1919 the son of the late Phillip and Maria (Peiork) Chak. Richard worked at Pratt & Whitney first in Willimantic and then in East Hartford until retiring in 1974. He enjoyed doing yard work, walking, being outside, playing with the family dog, being with family and listening to Polish music. He is survived by his children, Elsie C. Hall and her husband A. David of RI, Phillip A. Chak with whom he resided and Patricia C. Lewis and her husband Thomas of Storrs; grandchildren, Randy Harger of RI, Shannon Hall Walker of Tolland, A. David Hall III of Norwalk, Hope Hall Tyrrell of RI, Brian Hall of RI, Sarah Burgess of Bermuda, Andrea Lewis and Beth Lewis both of Storrs; great grandchildren, Allison Hall, Timothy Hall, Samantha Tyrrell, A. David Hall IV, Austin Hall and Jacob Hall, nephews, Alfred Ceppetelli of VT and Richard Ceppetelli of Broad Brook; and Richard's caregiver Ken Montenegro, whose care made his last months more comfortable. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday Nov. 3, 2012 between 3:00 and 5:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Interment in Storrs Cemetery will be at the convenience of his family.
