Richard H. Adams, March 25, 1928 -May 16, 2011. With deepest sadness, we announce the passing of Richard H. Adams, 83 of Andover, on May 16, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine (Haddad) Adams for 57 years and was the son of the late J. Nelson and Dorothy M. Adams of Willimantic. Richard was predeceased by his son, David, and his brother, Harrold. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter Regina G.A. Malsbary and her husband Fred of Coventry, son Jeffrey N. Adams and his partner, Michael J. Cebula of Newburyport, MA and son, Daniel R. Adams and his wife Robin of Andover. Richard is also survived by his wonderful granddaughters, Amelia and Lindsey Malsbary and Haley and Kara Adams; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Ella Adams of Pennsylvania, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ronald Brochu of Chaplin, and sister-in-law, Georgette Johnson of Willimantic, as well as several nieces and nephews. Richard was an R&D mechanical engineer and owned a service station. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Richard was proudest of building his own house and barn and of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family and keeping up with their lives and accomplishments. He loved working in his organic garden and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed going to the theater with his wife and visiting with their many friends at their home. Richard had numerous friends who expressed that they were better people for knowing him. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. His family will receive relatives and friends at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street (Rte. 195), Willimantic on Friday, May 27th between 4 and 8 PM. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28th at 10 AM at the First Congregational Church in Andover.
