Rene E. Grenier

Rene E. Grenier 08/09/1930 - 08/05/2011, of Willimantic, beloved husband of Eveyln (Moore) Grenier passed into eternal life with his wife and sons by his side. He was the son of the late Napoleon Grenier and Laura (Bissonnette) Grenier of Killingly. He was the middle child of 13 brothers and sisters. He worked at American Screw Company, Rogers Corporation, Inter Royal and United Nuclear until he retired in 1990. He was a communicant of St Mary Church, Willimantic. He loved to raise show pigeons and enjoyed Polka dancing. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons and a daughter in-law, Paul Grenier of Willimantic and John and Maria Grenier of Scotland; four grandchildren, Michelle Grenier of Bristol, VA, Andrea Grenier of Anchorage , AK, Lauren and Samuel Grenier of Scotland; three sisters, Doris Breault , Claire Potvin , and Luceille Morency all of Plainfield; one brother Robert Grenier of Moosup; a brother and sister in-law, Roland and Rosemary Moore of Haines City, FL; several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews along with many loving in-laws and close friends. He was predeceased by three brothers, Roger, Roland and Richard Grenier and five sisters, Yvette Mailloux, Jeannette Heimer, Lillian Bellerive, Lorraine Gould and Aline Boyer. His family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 10th between 5:00 and 8:00 pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Thursday August 11th at 10:15 am prior to the procession to his 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Mary Church on Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
