Regina Zenewitz

Regina Zenewitz, 87, formerly of North Windham, passed away on Thursday Aug. 26, 2010 at W.W. Backus Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter Zenewitz Jr. Regina was born in Bronx, NY on April 18, 1923 the daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Kuczynski) Romanewicz. She had worked at Creedmoor Hospital in Queens Village, NY for many years before moving to CT. She had also worked at Brand Rex in Willimantic and in the English Dept. at ECSU. She was married to Walter for 58 years. Regina is survived by a son, Walter Jr. of Glen Oaks, NY, and daughters Barbara Wengrzynek and her husband Fred of Columbia and Kathy Smart and her husband Carl of Scotland. She is also survived by six grandchildren, William Zenewitz, Brandon, Justin and Devon Wengrzynek, Keith Smart and Natasha Floran; a sister Irene Mullaney of Uncasville and a brother Edmund Roman of Las Vegas, NV. She was predeceased by a brother Stanley Romanewicz and two sisters, Helen Borkiewicz and Eleanor Romanewicz. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday Aug. 31st at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic between 9:30 and 10:30am prior to the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Rte 85, Colchester.
