Reatha Marie Harris Jenkins
Reatha Marie Harris Jenkins, 78, formerly of Willimantic, Connecticut, leaves behind a lifetime of memories, lasting friendships, and a legacy of love that will continue to live on through the many people whose lives she touched.
Mom, Reatha, Pip, Reat was a woman who believed in the importance of family, friendship, and giving to others. She had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and willingness to share what she had made an impression on so many people. She was blessed with hundreds of friends throughout her lifetime, many of whom became like family.
Reatha was also known for her wonderful cooking. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, good food, and togetherness, and those fortunate enough to enjoy her meals knew that the love she put into her cooking was just as special as the food itself. Those who knew Reatha also knew of her love for bingo!
Reatha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip "Chipper" Jenkins Sr.; her mother, Hannah McAlister Marshall; her father, Stanley Harris; her brother, Stanley "Bucky" Harris Freeman; her brother, Calvin Albert Harris; and her sister, Marion Hatcher Harris.
She leaves behind her four loving sons: Philip Henry Jenkins Jr.(Melissa), Angelo "Steve" Gonzales(Beth), Kirk Douglas Jenkins, and Jack Daniel Jenkins Sr.(Megan) She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and hundreds of dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Although her passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who loved her, the memories she created, the generosity she showed, and the friendships she treasured will never be forgotten. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and the countless people fortunate enough to have known her.
Reatha's life was measured not only by the years she lived, but by the many lives she touched along the way. She leaves behind a family who loved her, friends who will miss her, and memories that will last a lifetime.
