Raymond Anderson Way

Raymond Anderson Way, 60, of Ashford, CT, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed peacefully over to Heaven on January 17, 2015, after a valiant battle against metastatic esophageal cancer. He leaves behind his devoted wife Susan Kneen Way, son Britt Way, daughter Barbara Brandt, son-in-law Robert Brandt, grandson Sterling Brandt, mother-in-law Martha Kneen, aunt Hercy Lord, brother-in-law Frank Kneen, sister-in-law Sandra Kneen, nephew Geoffrey Kneen and many close family members and friends. Raymond's parents, Britt Way and Madeline Duval Way predeceased him. Raymond retired on January 1, 2015 from his position as an Associate Fiscal Administrative Officer for the State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health after 22 years of dedicated service and made many lasting friendships during his career. His interests included gardening at Wayward Farm, tractors, agricultural fairs, machinery, museums, the outdoors and enjoying time with family and friends. Calling hours will be January 21, 2015, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic, CT. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, The Windham Hospital Foundation, and the Visiting Nurse Association (Hartford Healthcare at Home). The Way Family is very appreciative of the many meals received from their friends in the Department of Public Health and the Office of Early Childhood, and the compassionate care provided by the staff at Hartford Hospital, Windham Hospital and VNA East.
