Raymond E. Segar, 86, of Windham, husband of Anna Mae (Potter) Segar, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at their home, surrounded by his family. He was born April 21, 1926 in Manchester, CT, the son of Charles and Christine (Phillips) Segar and had lived in Scotland and Windham all his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Ray was the manager of Nelson Freightways until 1970 and then drove buses for Constitution Coach until 2002. He farmed all his life and was very proud of his Sunny Acres farm and home. In addition to his wife of nearly 67 years he is survived by a son, Robert Segar and his wife May of Windham and three grandchildren, Meg, Robb and Ryan as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Ethel Bradley, and three brothers, Earl, John and Donald Segar. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., (Rte. 195) Willimantic. His Funeral service will be Saturday, September 8th at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of Windham, Rte. 203 at Rte. 14, Windham Center. Burial will follow in the Windham Center Cemetery.
