Raymond J. Michaud, 69, of Hampton, husband of Beverly (Chasse) Michaud, died Friday December 10, 2004 at the Windham Hospital. He was born December 31, 1934 in Willimantic, the son of Lorette (Roberts) Dubreuil of Hampton and the late Alphonse Michaud, and had lived in the Windham area all his life. He was a U.S. Army paratrooper, serving with the 11th Airborne Division during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years at United Technologies Research Center in East Hartford. Mr. Michaud was a private pilot and instructor for many years; he loved boating and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also a model train collector, an amateur astronomer and had recently set up a private machine shop. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Theodore Joseph Michaud and his wife Suzanne of Canterbury, Douglas John Michaud of Hampton, 2 granddaughters, Jessica and Megan, a step granddaughter, Michelle Santerre, a step grandson, Joshua Santerre, a brother, Roger Michaud and his wife Beatrice of Lebanon, 2 sisters and their husbands, Rose Marie and Joseph Gauvin of Scotland, Linda and Stephen Surridge of Hampton, a brother-in-law, Theodore Chasse of Enfield, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Munchkin. Funeral services and burial were private. There were no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, 2550 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301 or a charity of the donor's choice.
