Raymond E. Landeck, 83, of Chaplin, husband of Ruth (Hall) Landeck, died Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Windham Hospital. He was born December 27, 1928 in Pawtucket, RI, the son of Adolph and Lena (Hall) Landeck and was a life long resident of Chaplin. In addition to running the Landeck Dairy Farm all his life, he was employed at the UConn Dairy Barn for 28 years, retiring in 1983.Following that retirement he was employed by Mountain Dairy in Mansfield from 1983 to 1993. Raymond was the last remaining Charter Member of the Chaplin Volunteer Fire Department, founded in 1949. In addition to his wife of nearly 59 years he is survived by four children, Lynn Bernier of Tolland, Wayne Landeck and his wife Debbie of Bellevue, WA, Lisa Jo Landeck of Chaplin and Todd Landeck and his wife Darcy of Hampton, seven grandchildren, Daniel, Katie, Nathan, Maxwell and Christopher Landeck, Tara Bernier-Pitre and Corey Bernier, three great grandchildren, Sofia Ann Landeck-Williams, Kai Pitre and Keegan Pitre, three nieces, Karin Metcalf, Kerry Landeck and Terry Cardinal. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Karl Landeck Sr., Phillip Landeck and Frieda Landeck Welch and two nephews, Karl Landeck Jr. and Keith Landeck. His family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, September 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic.
