Raymond Curtis Ladd, 62, of Willimantic passed away at Hartford Hospital on Saturday, February 14th 2015. He was predeceased by his father Raymond Lester Ladd Jr. in 1994. He is survived by his mother Norma Douglass Ladd; four brothers, Craig, Clayton (and his wife Trish and children Shay - his beloved Goddaughter - and Raymond - a fellow athlete and Red Sox fan), Lance (and his wife Carol and children Jennifer and Kimberly- his favorite password partner), and Colin (and wife Jeanne), and many other family members. Raymond studied Architectural Drafting at Windham Regional Technical School and while there lettered and starred in football, basketball and baseball. He graduated in 1972. After graduation, Raymond worked as a surveyor for the State of Connecticut for 30 years. Raymond was an avid fisherman, a patient coach, an artist, an accomplished bowler, softball player and billiards player. He was also a devoted Red Sox and UConn Huskies fan, attending 3 women's national basketball championship final fours with his brothers Clayton and Colin. His fun-loving laughter was a treasure to share. Raymond spent countless hours enjoying and excelling at genealogical research with his mother Norma. In recent years Raymond enjoyed the company of "his boys"-his 2 dogs Ringo and Benni. He will be remembered as a beloved son, an excellent brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. His generosity and selflessness have been unwavering and remarkable. Raymond's large heart and giving spirit will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Windham Center on Friday, February 20th, 2015 at 11:00AM. On-line condolences may be paid at
