Raymond LaChappelle, 46, of Willimantic, died Monday March 18, 2002 at the Windham Hospital. He was born May 5, 1955 in Willimantic, the son of the late Joseph and Noella (Martin) LaChappelle and was a lifelong area resident. He was a former member of the Army National Guard and the South Windham Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by a daughter, Gabrielle Kissman of Willimantic, 2 brothers, Felix Gaudreau of Washington State, Maurice LaChappelle of Columbia, 5 sisters, Dolores McGinnis of Manchester, Irene Brousseau of Chaplin, Jeannette Glines of Bristol, Shirley Spinnato of Hampton, Diane LaChappelle of Willimantic and a special friend Birdie. He was predeceased by a sister Claire LaChappelle. Funeral services and burial in St. Joseph Cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund for his daughter, Gabrielle Kissman, c/o Irene Brousseau, 12 North Bedlam Rd., Chaplin, CT 06235. The Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic is in charge of arrangements.
