Ramon (Monchy) Diaz, 66, of Willimantic, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Backus Hospital. He was born April 24, 1957 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Felipe and Carmen Diaz.
Ramon loved baseball and worked at the Mansfield Training School and later at Willi Waste. He was very proud of his Puerto Rican roots.
Ramon is survived by his daughter, Shira Diaz, granddaughters Kaimani Byrd Diaz and Kahryn Diaz Watson; son, Ramon Diaz (Sara Diaz), granddaughters Ashanti Diaz, Syanna Diaz, Avaleigh Diaz, grandsons Sebatian Rivera, Ramon C. Diaz Jr. and Raymond Diaz; sisters, Carmen Diaz of Caguas, Puerto Rico and Gladys Diaz of Willimantic and a brother Nick Diaz and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ramon is predeceased by his brothers Gerardo and Juan Diaz all of Caguas, Puerto Rico. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
