Ralph J. Trainor, 70, of Columbia, husband of Mary Rose (Fitzpatrick) Trainor, died Monday, June 3, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. He was born December 8, 1942 in Willimantic, the son of Raymond and Eugenia (Curol) Trainor and had lived in Columbia for the past 46 years. Prior to his retirement in 1993 he had been employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 30 years. He was an active member of St. Columba Church and enjoyed working at their Bingo games. Ralph was a former member of the Lions Club in Columbia and a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. He loved his rock and roll music, going to car shows and traveling with his family. In addition to his wife of 47 years he is survived by five children; Jeffrey Trainor, Susan Trainor, Jeremy Trainor and his wife Deborah, Matthew Trainor and Ashley Trainor-Congdon and her husband Drew, a brother Barry Trainor, five grandchildren; Cassandra and Jamie, Alexandria, Tabitha and Zachary and Poppie's very special great granddaughter Kaylee Lynn. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 7th at 11:00 AM at St. Columba Church, Columbia, with assembly at the church (jct. of Rte. 66 & Rte. 87).
