Ralph Edwards Jr., 64, of Main St. Hampton, husband of Janice (Gould) Edwards, died after a long illness on Thursday March 4, 2004 at home surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 20, 1939 in Willimantic the son of Delsie (Sage) Edwards of Columbia and the late Ralph Edwards. He had been employed by Pratt & Whitney for 35 years and had also worked at Knight's Gas Station and for Tennett Tree Service. Ralph was an outdoorsman enjoying gardening, animals and fishing. He also enjoyed painting and especially enjoyed spending quality time with his family. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter Donna McCollum of Willimantic, his daughter and son in law Carol and Craig Kelley of Danielson, his son and daughter in law James and Elizabeth Edwards of E. Lyme, his son and daughter in law Jeffrey and Sharlene Edwards of Brooklyn, his daughter and son in law Christina and Peter Koiva of Scotland and his daughter Kimberly Strong of Moosup, 13 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Mike Shaia. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Smith and his identical twin Frank Edwards. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00pm at the Christian Fellowship Church, Rte 97 (1/2 mile north of Rte. 14) Scotland. Burial will follow in the South Cemetery, Hampton.
