Rafael Guzman Jr passed away on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Hartford Hospital.
Rafael was born on June 24, 1952 in Utuado, Puerto Rico. He came to live in Connecticut in his early 20’s just after his sister made the move. He worked for many years as a banker at CBT bank then worked at Foxwoods Casino as a Cage Supervisor for almost 25 years before retiring. Rafael was known to those close by him as Rafy. Rafy had a love for electronics, car repairs and was an overall handyman. He was always working on his home which he took a lot of pride in and helping out family and friends. Rafy will always be remembered for his love, kindness, funny personality and his famous greeting “Hey, Hey, Hey!!” which never failed to make anyone smile.
Rafael is survived by his parents, Rafael Guzman Lopez and Edith Morales Mendez; sisters Zaida and Madelyn Guzman; sons Miguel Gutierrez, Ismael Gutierrez and Felipe Bueno; nephew Michael Larson; and nieces Jessica Larson and Omayra Quiles.
A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:30 AM at the New Willimantic Cemetery, West Main Street, RT 32, Willimantic, CT.
