Rachel Marie Vandal

Rachel (Roy) Vandal, 81, of Willimantic, died Sunday September 26, 2004 at the Windham Hospital. She was born September 21, 1923 in Lowell, MA, the daughter of Alexander and Rhoda (Blow) Roy. She retired from the American Thread Co. after many years of employment. A devoted mother and grandmother she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Dorothy Bachand of Ponce Inlet, FL, three daughters, Linda Belcher of Indiana, Valerie Gaulin and her husband Raymond of Andover, LaurieMae Rowe and her husband Clayton of Willimantic, 11 grandchildren, Sheryl, Roxanne, Laura-Lee, Tammy, Robert, Carmen, Celeste, Bryce, Vicki-Rae, Rebecca-Jo and Sara-Beth, 15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic on Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to a 2:00 p.m. funeral home service. Burial will be private in the Windham Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to the Douglas Manor residents Fund, 103 North Rd., Windham Center, CT 06280 or the Windham Hospital, 112 Mansfield Ave., Willimantic, CT 06226.
