September 10, 1937 — October 20, 2002

Rachel T. Bertora, 65, of Pleasant St. Willimantic, wife of Henry Bertora, died at home, after a two month battle with leukemia , on Sunday evening Oct. 20, 2002 with her family at her side. She was born Sept. 10, 1937 in Willimantic the daughter of Arthur and Robea (Rondeau) Poudrier. As a graduate of Windham High School's Class of 1955, she organized all of the class reunions held since. Rachel's career as a hairdresser concluded with working with her husband in Storrs at the Campus Beauty Shop. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and was a very active Bridge player. Rachel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed helping others. In addition to her husband Henry, she is survived by 2 sons and a daughter in law; Paul and Cheryl Bertora of Lebanon and Christopher Bertora of Willimantic, 2 daughters and sons in law; Patrice and Christopher Ramm of Columbia and Lori and Scott Keegan of Columbia, 2 brothers; Roland Poudrier of Willimantic and Lionel Poudrier of Santobia, MS., a sister Doris Parent of Willimantic, 6 grandchildren; Lindsay and Kyle Ramm, Nicholas and Emily Bertora and Brittany and Brianna Keegan, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic TODAY from 5:00 to 8:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:15 prior to the procession the her 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to St. Mary's Church Repair Fund, 80 Maple Ave. Willimantic,Ct. 06226.
