Phyllis E. Garrison, 90, of Chaplin, widow of Edward Garrison Sr., daughter of late Del B. Burdick and Leon Burdick, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 3, 2013 at St. Joseph Living Center surrounded by loved ones. She was co-owner of Garrison Sand and Gravel, former bookkeeper at Brand Rex, Justice of the Peace, volunteered at the Chaplin Museum and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Chaplin Fire Dept. She is survived by her children Walter "Kenny" York, Cynthia Bibeau, Joe York and 3 step children Edward Garrison Jr, Sharon Garrison, Sandra LaChappell; six grandchildren, Paula Bibeau, Connie Gallnot (Dan), Correna Bibeau, Rhonda Lim (Nate), Kenny York (Jen), and Pamela Bibeau and 5 step grandchildren, Jennifer Christopher, Jessica Segar, Nicole Nollett, Kyra-Faye Garrison, and Jake Garrison; 12 great-grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren, also a sister Louise Hawkins of Florida and two sisters in-law, Jane Burdick of Chaplin and Joyce Burdick of Windham and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers Edward Burdick and Searl Burdick. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Monday July 8, 2013 between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00pm at Chaplin Congregational Church, Chaplin St., Chaplin. Interment will then follow in South Chaplin Cemetery.
