Phoebe F. Boucar, 89, of Mansfield, widow of Joseph C. Boucar, died Saturday April 12, 2003 at the Windham Hospital. She was born Dec. 2, 1913 in Columbia the daughter of Horace and Emma (Reome) Geer. Upon graduation from high school she became employed by the Southern New England Telephone Co. She later worked for 20 years at UConn until her retirement where she worked in dining hall services. Phoebe was a member of the First Spiritualist Church in Willimantic. She enjoyed knitting and gardening and was dedicated to her family. She is survived by 2 sons; Joseph H. Boucar and his wife Madelyn of Andover and Peter A. Boucar and his companion Debbie Barber of Franklin, ME., 3 grandsons; Steven C. Boucar of CA., and Peter G. Boucar and Christopher J. Boucar both of ME. And 4 great grandchildren; Shaina, David, John and Chris. She was predeceased by a son Charles in 1987 who was a Viet Nam War veteran and by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic with her family receiving friends for one hour prior. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to the First Church of Christ Congregational, 549 Storrs Rd., Mansfield Center, Ct. 06250.
