Philip F. Hopkins, 55, of Pennywood La., Willimantic, husband of Nancy (Hrenuk) Hopkins, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday Nov. 3, 2003. He was born Oct. 26, 1948 in Willimantic the son of Philip G. and Clara (Johnson) Hopkins of Preston. He was a graduate of NFA, ECSU and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored several churches in Maryland, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Philip attended the Baptist Fellowship in Columbia for many years and was presently attending the Lebanon Bible Church. In addition to his loving wife of 33 years and his parents, he is survived by 2 sons Philip and his wife Mary Ann and Peter and his wife Norah all of N.C., 4 brothers; Dwight of Preston, Doug of Canterbury and Robin and Jon of Preston, 3 sisters; Lois Schroeder of Griswold, Jean Craig of Preston and Susan Terrell of Preston, 2 grandsons; Jesse and Malachi and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00pm at the Baptist Fellowship, 195 Rte. 6, Columbia with the Rev. Art Langdon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mansfield Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the International Mission Board, SBC, P.O.
