Philip James Gendron

July 21, 1945 — October 22, 2013

Philip James Gendron, age 68, passed away at his home on 10/22/13 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 21, 1945 in North Troy, Vermont to George and Hilda Gendron, he moved to Rockville, CT as a teenager and has spent most of his life living in either Willimantic or Somers. He was employed as a machinist at Pratt and Whitney and then Sterling for the majority if his life. He was an avid sports fan enjoying the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and UCONN Huskies. He enjoyed bowling in the TBK club league, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife Arlene Gendron of Somers, his daughter Tammy Gendron and her mother Janet Gendron of North Windham; his sister Patricia Ramsdell and her husband Ronald of Rockville; Arlene's children Nancy Hensley and her husband Brad of Ellington, James Bradley and his wife Joyce of Andover, and Andrea Totten and her husband Stephen of Somers; Arlene's 14 grandchildren and a great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son George Gendron and his brother Robert Gendron. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday Oct. 25th between 5:00pm and 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with Rev. Roger Lamoureux officiating. Please assemble in the church parking area at 9:45am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
