Peter Mezzomo, 67, of Danielson, husband of Natalie (Manning) Mezzomo, died Tuesday January 15, 2002 at the W. W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born November 19, 1934 in Passaic, NJ, the son of Celestino and Angelina (Doris) Mezzomo and moved to Connecticut when he was 8 years old. He was a 1953 graduate of Windham Regional Technical School and was a Teamster for 31 years. Mr. Mezzomo worked for a number of trucking firms in southeast Connecticut including C.C. Lounsbury in Willimantic, Willimantic Waste Paper Co., Roadway in New London and for the past 22 years at New Penn in Providence from which he retired. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #1311, the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department and served as a private in the Army Reserve Infantry. He was a kind and generous man, always willing to help others. He will be sadly missed by his loving family. In addition to his wife he is survived by 6 daughters and their spouses, Pietra and Kevin McNamara of Lisbon, Carol and Dante Sacciccio of Bolton, Judith and Peter Perrault of East Hampton, Sandra and James Marchand of North Windham, Angela and Thomas Merrick of Staten Island, NY, Hope Mezzomo of East Hartford, 8 grandchildren, Kelly and Ryan McNamara, Clifford and Victoria Sacciccio, Michael, Nicole and William Marchand and Samuel Perrault. A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Pautipaug Cemetery on Pond Rd. (Rte. 207) in Franklin. There are no calling hours. Kindly omit flowers.
