Peter Gervais Obituary
Peter M. Gervais, 83, of Windham Center, unexpectedly passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 3, 1941 in Willimantic, Connecticut, the son of Albert L and Edith (O’Bara) Gervais and was a lifelong resident of Windham. He was predeceased by his brother Stanley Albert Gervais and sister Gay Billie Parenteau. He is survived by his niece Kristina Smith and friend Dean Kraska, nephew Stanley A Gervais II and wife Laurie, niece Casey Ann Gervais and friend Jimmy Mason. His great nieces and nephew: Jennifer Jenkins and husband Ben, Alexis Smith, Stanley Albert Gervais III and wife Chelsea and Alycia Gervais and fiancé Kamali O’Brian. Great niece Ava Jenkins.
Pete spent his working life as a heavy machine operator. In his retirement years, he enjoyed tinkering in his wood and mechanic shop. He loved working on his classic cars and helping prepare cars for the demolition derby. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, while sharing a toast or two in the garage.
The family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Windham Center Fire House.
There are no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 8, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic. Burial will be private.
