Pauline Curtiss Millard

Millard, Pauline Augustus (Curtiss) "Polly" C. Millard, 85, of Ashford, died Sunday (February 24, 2013). She was born October 11, 1927 in Winsted, the daughter of Samuel A. Curtiss and Minnie A. (Lawrence) Curtiss. Married to the now deceased Keith Harvey Millard, they were married September 21, 1947. Survivors include a son Jeffrey A. Millard of Baltimore, MD; a daughter Carol A. Millard of Ashford; three grandchildren, Rachel Millard, Kevin Millard, and Brenna Golden; and two nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by a sister, Anita C. Browne of Norfolk. A graduate of Gilbert School, a resident of Norfolk for 34 years before moving to Colebrook for 13 years and then Ashford for the last 14 years, Polly worked for the Norfolk Congregational Church, Camp Jewell in Colebrook and the Ivery & Dudley Pharmacy, Winsted, before retiring in 1989. Favorite pastimes were doing puzzles and playing bingo. Please omit flowers. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:30 AM in the Woodward Cemetery, Rte. 44, Ashford. there are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Lions Club Ambulance in Norfolk, the Ashford Fire Department or the Our Companions Domestic Animal Sanctuary in Ashford.
