Coventry - Pauline Wolff Fonsh, 98, of Coventry, passed in peace from this earthly life to reunite in heaven with Joseph, her husband, on Friday, May 14, 2004. Pauline worked as a Bacteriologist at the University of Connecticut for eleven years. She later obtained a job at The American Thread Company in Willimantic where she worked for twenty years. After her retirement, she became a resident at Orchard Hill Estates in Coventry, where she was active in the Senior Center. Pauline's favorite activities were reading, card-playing, knitting, crocheting, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and especially baking her famous "molasses cookies" and "poppy-seed bread" which she lovingly made for her family. She was a member of St. Mary Parish in Coventry where she enjoyed donating many of her handmade items to the annual Holiday Fair. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her son, Anthony, of Westerly, RI; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amelia and Ronald Knapp of Coventry, and Elizabeth and Walter Albee of Brooklyn, CT. She also leaves a brother, Thomas Wolff. She was the beloved "Gigi" of seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Merion and Ann; and a granddaughter, Paula. Friends may call at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic, Monday, May 17, from 6-8 p.m. A private Funeral Mass will be held.
