Paula Nesovich, 83, of Mansfield, wife of the late Peter Nesovich, died Friday, September 4, 2009 in Mansfield. She was born May 6, 1926 in Germany, the daughter of Johann and Eva (Hetzel) Ott, and on Christmas Day in 1951, she and her husband immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island with two daughters in tow. She was employed for several years by Electro-Motive Mfg. Co. in Willimantic before she and her husband opened the Peter Nesovich New and Used Furniture Store in Willimantic which they operated from 1954 to 1995. For many years Paula was an active member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Willimantic. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who is survived by three children, Nelly Dorwart and her husband Dr. Jeffery Dorwart of New Jersey, Monika Contillo and her husband Leonard Contillo of Oakdale and Peter Nesovich and his companion Mary-Ellen McLaughlin of Willimantic, a sister, Margaret Gnesdilow of Dayton, Ohio, five grandchildren, Michele Lemieux and her husband Wayne Nogler of Uncasville, Lenny Contillo III and his wife Karla of California, Catherine Dorwart-Patterson and her husband Tony of North Carolina, Candace Dorwart, also of North Carolina and Karl Dorwart and his wife Maureen of New Jersey, three great grandchildren, Sarah and Kristen Lemieux and Aedan Dorwart, one great, great grandchild, Landon Lemieux-Bogue, a niece, Vera Bunning and her husband Tim and their children of Dayton, Ohio, a nephew, Walter Gnesdilow and his wife Barbara and their children in Florida and many family members and friends in Germany. Her funeral services will be held, Wednesday, September 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Orthodox Cemetery, Willimantic.
