Paul G. Waltenius, 52, of Lebanon passed away unexpectedly on Sunday (June 27, 2010). Born on March 16, 1958 in Flushing, NY, he was the son of Olof and Birgitta Waltenius. Paul grew up in Vernon, was a graduate of Rockville High School, class of 1976, and attended Central Connecticut State University. He was employed as a controller at Zlotnick Construction, Inc., in Mansfield for more than 20 years and prior to that worked for many years at Tamarack Lodge in Voluntown. Paul leaves behind his beloved wife Mary Kate (Thompson) Waltenius, his mother Birgitta Waltenius of Vernon, his sister Christine Bousquet and nephew Alex Bousquet of Vernon, his mother-in-law Katherine Thompson of Rockville and his brothers-in-law Peter (Debi), Michael (Jackie) and John (Peggy) Thompson and Dennis Quinn and their families. He was predeceased by his father Olof Waltenius, father-in-law Maurice Thompson, brother-in-law Mark Thompson and sister-in-law Anne Quinn. Paul had a priceless, wry sense of humor that brought joy and endeared him to his family and friends. He had a great appreciation of music and was an avid Red Sox convert. Paul especially loved his farm and walking the land and was happiest working the landscape on his tractor.
