Paul B. Plankey, 87, of Woodstock, Ct. formerly of E. Hartford, Ct., died Thursday May 1, 2003 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham, Ct. He was born Sept. 9, 1915 in Concord, N.H. the son of Mary Elizabeth Ferrin and John Baptiste Plankey. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Margaret (Healy) Plankey. He was a member of the New Hampshire National Guard from 1934 to 1937. Mr. Plankey was also a U.S. Army veteran serving with 197th Coast Artillery Anti Aircraft Battery A from 1938 to 1945. He served 35 months in the South Pacific (Australia, New Guinea and New Zealand) during World War 2. He was a member at large of the VFW. He is survived by 2 daughters and sons in law; Marguerite and Thomas Bartlett of Apache Junction, AZ., Jane and Thomas Murphy of Miamisburg, OH., a son and daughter in law, Robert and Linda Plankey of Columbia, CT., 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, Ct. on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00am in St. Columba Church, intersection of Rte 87 and Rte 66, Columbia, CT. Burial will follow at 12:45 in the Calvary Cemetery, Concord, N.H. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the Bungay Fire Dept., Woodstock, Ct. 06281 , the American Diabetes Assoc., CT. Memorial Processing Center, P.O.
