Paul E. LaBarre, 54 , of Whitney Rd., Columbia, husband of Nancy (Larson) LaBarre, died Tuesday Nov. 5, 2002 at home. He was born Dec. 29, 1947 in Canada the son of Leo and Bertha LaBarre of Willimantic. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Viet Nam War and was employed in sales at Mercury Excelum in Windsor. Paul was a 4th Degree member of San Jose Council K of C. and was also a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and held his pilots license. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by 2 sons and daughters in law; Jamie and Amy LaBarre of Hampton and Jayson and Jessica LaBarre of Brooklyn, a daughter and son in law Heidi and Charles Booth of Laguna Niguel, CA., a brother Serge LaBarre of Columbia, 2 sisters; Denise Riquier and Nicole Potter both of Columbia, 4 grandchildren; Jared, Victoria, Jacob and Julia and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in the West St. Cemetery, Columbia. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 238 W. Town St., Norwich, Ct. 06360.
