Paul J. Jurovaty Sr., 89, a lifelong resident of Andover, went to his eternal home on Monday May 26, 2003 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham. He was born May 8, 1914 the son of Anthony and Mary Jurovaty. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. Some of his greatest memories were of the many dances he attended in his younger years. A real family man, his greatest pride were his 3 grandchildren. Paul spent much of his life farming the land on Jurovaty Rd. He worked for the Town of Andover Road Dept. where he finally retired from in 1983. He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret (Burke) Jurovaty, a son and daughter in law Paul and Christine Jurovaty Jr., 3 grandchildren; Terri-Lynn Almeida, Michelle Byam and Paul Jurovaty III, 7 great grandchildren; Brianna and Brendon Byam, Jeffrey and Matthew Almeida and Tyler, Tanner and Madison Jurovaty. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:00am at the Church of the Holy Family, Rte 85, Hebron, with assembly at the church. Fr. Michael Smith will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Townsend Cemetery, Andover. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the Andover Volunteer Fire Dept., School Rd., Andover, Ct. 06232, for their support and dedication.
