Paul E. Blanchette, 86, of Mansfield, husband of the late Rita (Marquis) Blanchette, died Friday evening Jan. 7, 2005 at the Windham Hospital. He was born Sept. 20, 1918 in East Angus, Canada the son of Liniere and Florida (Gagne) Blanchette. Prior to his retirement, Paul had been employed by Kendall Corp. and Brand Rex. He was a World War 2 Canadian Army veteran. He is survived by 4 sons and daughters in law, Jean Paul and Jeannine Blanchette of Willimantic, Serge and Mary Blanchette of Rocky Hill, Denis and Ronna Blanchette of Windham and Roger and Debby Blanchette of Chaplin; 5 siblings in Canada, 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Jeannette Blanchette. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Monday 01/10/2005 between 6:00 and 8:00pm. His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00am with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
