Patrick Harrington Obituary
Patrick G. Harrington, 96, of Windham, CT, beloved husband of Janet Harrington, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Backus Hospital in Norwich, surrounded by his loving family.  Pat was born on May 7, 1927, in Willimantic, to the late Daniel and Ruth (Dady) Harrington. A lifelong resident of Willimantic, he graduated from Windham High School in 1945. He was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by the University of Connecticut as box office manager at Jorgensen Auditorium, retiring in 1988. His years at Jorgensen were always interesting and enjoyable to him, especially when meeting and socializing with various performing artists, many of whom were major celebrities. Prior to his years at UConn, Pat worked for many years at the former Electro Motive Manufacturing Company.

He was a loving husband and father, devoted to his family, always enjoying their activities and events, as well as family vacations. He felt great joy in any gatherings of family or friends.

Pat was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church and was a lifetime member of the Willimantic Elks. In his younger years, he was an athlete, especially in baseball, and throughout most of his life in bowling and golf, as well as a fan of many sports.

In addition to Janet, his wife of 32 years, Patrick is survived by and dearly missed by his sons John and his wife Mary Ellen and James and his wife Stephanie; his grandchildren Caitlin and her husband David Nigro, Nicklaus and his fiancee Rebecca Kall, and Cory Harrington; his great grandsons Roman and Theodore Nigro; his stepson John Cloutier and stepdaughter Eva-Lynn Stevens; plus many nieces and nephews, including his special, devoted nephew Mike Haggerty.  Patrick was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Madeleine (Maggie) V. Harrington; his infant son Neil, his daughter Nancy Kelly; his siblings Daniel Harrington, Dorothy Haggerty, and Ruth Barnum.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 9:30am to 10:30 A.M. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson Street, Willimantic.
