Patricia L. Richardson, the loving wife of Ronald Richardson of Willington, CT, born on Sept. 23,1959, passed away on Jan. 30, 2026, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Patty handled the challenges of treatment with both courage and grace, never losing her beautiful smile.
Patty was raised in Willimantic, graduating from Windham H.S. in 1977. She was an Honor’s Scholar, graduating from the UCONN in 1981. She later pursued her Master’s Degree in Religious Studies.
Patty held many positions in her years of employment, primarily in the social work field. She was a Case Manager in several agencies, was the Assistant Director of Educational Programs at Hartford Seminary. She was an Investigator with DCF. The Senior Services Coordinator for the Mansfield Senior Center. A Choices Counselor at North Central Area Agency of Aging, and finally, a Program Coordinator at the CT State Dept. of Aging and Disability. In everything she did, Patty always went above and beyond to provide the best service in all her careers.
When she wasn’t working, she was the go to person in the family, using her knowledge and generous nature to care for many family members.
In addition to her husband Ron, Patty is survived by her children, daughter Ceilhi Richardson of Columbia, MD, son Samual Richardson and his Fiancée, Rachel Wheeler, her grandson Arthur of Frederick, MD, stepson Chad Vale and his wife Suzanna of San Antonio, TX, sister in law Pattricia Turner Rudish of Florida, brother in law Michael Richardson of Torrington, sisters Kathleen Haggerty and Debra Oliver, of Windham, brothers John Hope and his wife Lynn, and Thomas Hope, all of Willimantic, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her father Richard J, Hope, mother Lorraine Syphers Hope, brother Richard G. Hope, and brother in laws Thomas Richardson and Johnny Rudish. Family was everything to Patty.
Patty’s interests included traveling and gardening and flowers, creating her oasis of beauty in and around her home. She sang with the Vernon Chorale for over twenty years and also sang in many church choirs throughout the years.
Patty’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Philip-Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT 06278.
