Patricia Baker Rapp Burdick

March 4, 1929 — April 24, 2010

Patricia May Burdick (formerly Baker/Rapp), a long-time resident of Centerbrook, Connecticut passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at St. Joseph's Living Center in Windham. She was 81. She died peacefully with her family by her side. Pat, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in East Hartford, Connecticut on March 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Donald J. Baker and the late May R. Baker. She was a graduate of East Hartford High School, class of 1947. In her yearbook, it is written, "There's never a dull moment when she's around." This remained her lifetime portrayal, and even to her final days in Saint Joseph's Living Center, she was described just this way by the nursing staff. Throughout her life, Pat enjoyed spending time with her pets. She loved her many dogs, and in her final years her cockatiel, Mr. Peepers. She had a wonderful sense of humor that could light up any room. Her greatest joys were found spending time with her family, friends and animals. She was pre-deceased by her husband, John Burdick of Centerbrook, and is survived by her only son, Douglas A. Rapp Jr., of Windham, and three grandchildren, Nicole M. Rapp of Vernon, Douglas A. Rapp III of Windham, and Katie A. Fiegel-Rapp of Windham. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association. Patricia requested cremation and that she be buried along side her late husband and mother at New Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon. A Memorial Service is planned for 11:00AM on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on 27 Plains Road in Windham Center, CT.
