Patricia Lynn (Randall) Natusch, 65, of Mansfield Center, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 24, 2019 at home. She was born in New Haven, Connecticut on January 28, 1954. Pat is survived by her beloved husband Milton S. Natusch and their two sons, Eric and Donald of Mansfield; her brother James Randall and his wife Sheila and her mother Ruth (Gallup) Randall all from Chaplin. She is the daughter of the late Lawrence Randall also from Chaplin. Patricia was known by many as the most giving and generous person in the world, willing to help anyone in need. She always had a story to tell about her travels and experiences and was able to make you smile and laugh. She was the person you wanted at a gathering for she brought things to life for all who attended. Pat always knew what to say and do when you were down and needed comfort and support. Pat was a leader by example and a faithful friend always! Her chocolate chip cookies, zucchini relish and blueberry desserts were her specialty. A special guardian was made and given to Pat by her mother, Ruth, to keep her safe on her long trips to Oxford to visit her future husband, Milton, who she married on October 19, 1985. Pat named her life size companion, Alex. He was always in the passenger seat with his seat belt on. Alex was also a guest at the wedding and reception. When the minister said you may kiss the bride, Milton, then hesitated and a guest rose and made a motion that he kiss the bride. The congregation voted that ?he kiss the bride,??which he did and then their life together began. Pat was a graduate of Parish Hill High School in Chaplin and of the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Rhode Island. Through her career she worked in the Animal Science Department at UCONN, the Department of Developmental Services at the former Mansfield Training School, in Mansfield and at the Department of Children and Families in Hartford. The two youth organizations, 4-H and FFA, were her passion over the years and worked closely with her husband in FFA (Future Farmers of America) serving as Executive Director for the Connecticut FFA Foundation, Inc., and on the National FFA Board of Directors for the Foundation. She was recognized by the National FFA Organization with the Honorary American FFA Degree. She served as President of the Connecticut FFA Alumni Association, President of the Coventry Historical Society and was a member of the Second Congregational Church, Coventry, CT. Her family tree was rich in historical heritage with the arrival of Captain John Gallup from England in 1633 and she loved researching her heritage through books and visiting grave sites throughout Connecticut to follow the Gallup family Tree. She is survived by many cousins across the country who played an influential role in her formative and recent years. A memorial service to celebrate Pat?s life and all she had done for others will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 11 a.m. at the Chaplin Senior Center, Chaplin, CT. Bring your memories to share and to celebrate this remarkable person! There will be a private burial for family and invited friends at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Chaplin Senior Center, 132 Chaplin St., Chaplin CT 06235 or the Connecticut FFA Foundation, Inc. 264 Storrs Road, Mansfield Center, CT 06250.
