Patricia M. (McInroy) Kegler, 74, of Chaplin passed away on Monday Jan 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 6, 1936 in Sharon, CT . Pat was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Young) McInroy who immigrated from Dunning, Scotland ,UK. Pat was a graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School and earned her bachelors degree in education from the Willimantic State Teachers College (ECSU). Pat went on to teach elementary school for over 28 years, spending most of her career at Natchaug Elementary School in Willimantic. Pat was very involved in The Chaplin Senior Center, and sat on the board of directors. She enjoyed playing Mah Jongg with several of her special friends. One of her favorite hobbies was watercolor painting. Pat was also an avid UCONN basketball fan and always enjoyed watching the games. Pat is survived by her three children, Mary P. Kegler of Mansfield, Peter E. Kegler and his wife Lisa of Chaplin, Paul J. Kegler and his children Christopher and Chelsea Kegler, all of Mansfield. Pat is additionally survived by two brothers, Norman McInroy of Kingman, AZ and David "Bill" McInroy of Alberta, AL, as well as 68 nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand nephews. There will be a memorial gathering and luncheon at The Chaplin Senior Center on Sat Jan 29, 2011 at 12:00. Burial will take place in the spring in Salisbury, CT. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Chaplin Senior Center, 132 Chaplin St., Chaplin, CT. 06235 or a children's charity of choice. Arrangements through Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic.
