Patricia M. Browne ( 1937- 2011) Patricia Browne of Chaplin passed away on January 28, 2011 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband Keith Browne and sons Matthew Browne and Jeremy Browne as well as 5 grandchildren. Pat was born in England where she lived until adulthood. She studied at the Ipswich University School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London, receiving several degrees. She has also received numerous artistic awards in England and the United States since moving here in 1974. Her work is included in many private, corporate and Museum collections in the United States and Europe. The majority of her work has been as a watercolorist. Her subjects include the natural world, homes, porches, barns and animals. Pat painted for everyone. She believed art should be affordable and offered many small originals at reasonable prices. She participated for many years in the Open Studio Tours and Artist in the Country and gave art lessons in her home and at various institutions. During her illness she was supported and loved by many, but particularly by her students, former and present. Her warmth, wit, grace and lilting British accent will be with all those who loved her. Services will be at the convenience of the family. For online memorial guestbook, please visit
