Patricia P. Armstrong

January 18, 1930 — April 15, 2007

Patricia P. Armstrong, of Columbia, widow of Robert E. Armstrong Sr., passed away peacefully with the same dignity and grace with which she lived her life, on Sunday April 15, 2007 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was born Patricia Ann to the late Kenneth and Dorothy Trewhella, in Hartford on Jan. 18, 1930. She was educated at Edgewood Park Prep School in N.Y., received a Fine Arts degree from Colby Junior College in N.H. and a degree in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University. Patricia worked for a number of years as secretary to the Asst. Director of Columbia University Library in N.Y. before returning to CT. and making her home in Columbia. She was retired from the UConn Graduate Services Dept. and was presently working at the East Hartford Raymond Library. She is survived by her brother Richard Trewhella of Manchester, four loving step children, Robert Jr. and his wife Deborah, Susan Armstrong and her husband Gene Julian, Dawn Armstrong all of Stafford Springs and David and his wife Donna of Bolton; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. Patricia also leaves behind her very precious dog Penny and many close friends. She was predeceased by her first husband Richard G. Park and a nephew. Her family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday between 5:00 and 7:00pm. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:00am in West Street Cemetery, Lake Rd., Columbia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Columbia Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O.
