Odny Rogde

Odny Rogde, 74, of Hampton, CT, formerly of Locust Valley, NY passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at home. Born June 28, 1930 in Oslo, Norway, she was the daughter of the late Axel and Borghild Syvertsen, sister of Eva (Syvertsen)Eilertsen and the late Danny Syvertsen. Mrs. Rogde came to America at the age of 19 and worked for SAS Airlines. In 1955 she married the late Sigurd O. Rogde . She was involved in many aspects of community life, playing an active role in her sons lives serving as Den Mother for the local Cub Scouts, teaching Sunday school at the Reformed Church of Locust Valley, volunteering at the local Grenville Baker Boys & Girls club, Meals-on-Wheels and numerous church functions and committees. After raising her sons, she returned to full time work, employed at the Norsk Hydro Corporation in Manhattan until she retired in 1997 She is survived by her two sons, Erik and Scott; her daughter-in-law, Lisa, Erik and Lisa's son Jason; a sister, Eva; nephew, Emil; niece, Kim and numerous friends and family. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street (Rt. 195), Willimantic, CT 06226 ( www.potterfh.com ) from 10AM to 11AM on Saturday, November 20, 2004 with a memorial service at 11AM. A reception will follow at the residence of Erik & Lisa Rogde.
