Norman N. Brown, 98, of Windham, left this world on Sat. Oct. 27, 2012 at Douglas Manor, Windham. Born in Keene, NH on May 24, 1914, he was the third child of Edward and Margorie (Mansfield) Brown. He had resided at Douglas Manor the last five years. He was predeceased by the love of his life Priscilla (Pat) Brown in 2004. They were married sixty three years. He leaves two daughters, Beverly A. Brown of Farmington, and Betty J. Tucker of Manchester; four grandchildren, Suzanne Schweitzer and her husband David of Canton and their four children Danielle, Alleah, Charles and Hannah, Guy S. Reynolds and his wife Rosemary of Hull MA, Jenifer Tucker Lenart and her husband Charlie of Manchester and their daughter Madison and Michael D. Tucker and his wife Emily of Willimantic and their children Michael Douglas and Natilie Rose. He also leaves a brother James Brown of Keene, NH. and a sister Virginia Davis of Milwaukee WI., as well as many nieces and nephews. Norman served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII stationed in Hawaii. He patrolled the South Pacific after Pearl Harbor and trained German Shepherds for patrol. Norman was involved with organizations such as The American Legion and the Willimantic Elks. He retired in 1971, from Savin Electric Local Union # 35. He worked by trade as a electrician for thirty years. After he retired he became the caregiver for Eastern CT. State Fireman's Training School in Willimantic for many years. At this time, the family would like to say Thank You to all the administration, nurses, staff, and residents of Douglas Manor for the love and care they gave our father, and grandfather! It was truely appreciated by us all. A special note to two wonderful friends, Maggie and Roland, you were with Dad till the end, thank you. And to a "Special Nurse" for being with Pop his last two days, thanks Emily. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic.
