Norma Guerraz Clarke Obituary
Norma Guerraz Clarke (Perakis), 97, of Chaplin, CT passed out of our arms on February 8, 2023. She was born in Lausanne, Switzerland on September 6, 1925. In 1948, she emigrated to the United States with husband Gaston Guerraz, who predeceased her in 1967.
Our Mom was our saving grace. She loved us unconditionally and took those that we brought into our lives as her own. To her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was a much-cherished Meme. She touched so many lives. Fantastic Christmases, beautifully knitted gifts, endless delicious dinners and gifts of flowers or veggies from her garden were given with much love. Her beautiful smile and laughter we will carry with us to our end. Memories of Mom sledding with us, time spent at the camp in Maine, her geraniums, the incredible roasts, stews and steak fries she made for us, and dancing the “Christmas Polka” in our living room with a tree nearly obscured by gifts are some of our sweetest memories. Our home was an incredible place, despite the tragedy of losing our dad, due to the love and courage our Mom had to go on - for us. She poured her heart and very soul into it. We are eternally grateful for you Mom.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara and Allie Ladd, son Robert and Rhonda Guerraz, son Marcel and Joanne Guerraz, daughter Sandra and Ronald Pelletier, and stepson Pete Jr and Carol Clarke. Her grandchildren Steve and Michelle, Kristian, Brian and Katrina, Keith and Jen, Josh and Marissa, Chontell, Jocelyn, Mandy, Kim, P.J. and Brian Key. Her great-grandchildren Gabe, Sophie, Richard, Ryan, Erin, Kallie, Rowan, Gavin, Noelle, Stella, Caroline, Ryan, and Justin. Her sister Corinne and many nieces and nephews in Switzerland. Norma was also predeceased by her second husband Pedro Clarke, granddaughter Ashley (Pelletier) Key and her parents, sister, brother and infant twin brother in Switzerland.
There are no calling hours. Norma’s graveside service will be on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 1:00pm at South Chaplin Cemetery, Chaplin, CT.
