Nicholas Sadow

Nicholas Sadow, 84, of Storrs, died Tuesday Sept. 14, 2010 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born May 27, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Alfred and Sophie Sadow. After graduation from high school in Brooklyn, he served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Sadow had been employed by Sikorsky Aircraft, Grumman Aircraft and Westinghouse Elevator. Locally he worked for Zlotnick Construction and then retired from University of Connecticut in 1989. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Willimantic. He loved life. He loved dancing. He loved his family. He is survived by his wife Helen (Marco) Sadow, daughter Barbara Lade-Asendorf and her husband Patrick; son Alfred Sadow and his wife Christine and their children Nicholas and Christopher; and a sister Zenia Zlotnick and her husband George. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday Sept. 18th between 9:30 and 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic prior to his 11:30am Funeral Service at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 414 Valley St. Willimantic. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Orthodox Cemetery, Windham. Memorial donations in the name of Nicholas may be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 414 Valley St. Willimantic, CT. 06226.
