Newton S. Green Sr., 69, of Mansfield, died suddenly on Friday June 7, 2002 at the Windham Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He was born March 10, 1933 in Windham, the son of the late Myron and Mildred (Duvall) Green and had lived in the Mansfield area all his life. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford. During his retirement he enjoyed farming as a hobby. Mr. Green was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Windsor Locks. He is survived by 7 children, Lu-Ann Brown of Lebanon, Newton Green Jr. of Storrs, Wendy Knight of Willington, Wanda St. Onge of Hobe Sound, FL, Victor Green of Coventry, Shawn Green of Coventry and Jason Green of Windsor Locks, a brother, Cyril Green Sr. of Mansfield, 2 sisters, Jane Hall of Westbrook and Diurna Kibbe of Somers, 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Myron E. Green Jr. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Storrs Cemetery.
