Nelson W. Goble

Nelson Goble, 92, of Storrs, CT, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2017. He was born in Luzerne, Pennsylvania on November 23,1924. Nelson, nicknamed Dusty, worked at Mobil Oil Corporation for 30 years until he retired in 1985. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was well-known for his get-togethers playing guitar. He will be greatly remembered for his musical talent and heart-rendering voice. He was also a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and served in World War II. Nelson is survived by his wife, M. Jacqueline Goble; daughters, Cynthia Hannon and her husband John, Melody Lynn, Lark Peck and her husband Greg, and Starlene McMorrow and her husband Tom. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held for him on Saturday, October 14, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at St. Phillips Church in Ashford, Connecticut.
