Nellie (Wolfe) Carchidi, 84,of Canterbury, wife of the late Nicholas J. Carchidi, died Saturday Feb. 19, 2005 at Douglas Manor in Windham. She was born Oct. 6, 1920 in Coventry the daughter of William A. and Faith R. (Potter) Wolfe. Mrs. Carchidi was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during W.W.2. She had been employed by the Windham Hospital and retired from The American Thread Company. A long time Canterbury resident, she wintered in Florida for many years. She was predeceased by a son Richard and is survived by 3 daughters, Pamela Carchidi of Willimantic, Kathie Gilson and her husband Blake of Gloucester, MA. and Rose Kimlingen and her husband Michael of Canterbury; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Carchidi, Ethan Gilson, Lucas Gilson, Daniel Gilson and Kaylee Kimlingen; and several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Monday between 6:00 and 8:00pm. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00am with burial following in Carey Cemetery, Canterbury.
