Neil Gregory Sikand

Neil G. Sikand, 43, of Storrs, died unexpectedly on Wednesday March 12, 2003 at the Windham Hospital. He was born Sept. 13, 1959 in Willimantic the son of Dr. Sage Sikand and Frances (Williams) Sikand. Neil was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of UConn and became a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force while attending Tufts Medical School. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel in Storrs. Neil lived an independent and courageous life in Mansfield for the past 21 years, following a disabling accident. He enjoyed being active in the community, attending UConn activities, the Mansfield Senior Center and church functions. Neil always maintained his love for music, photography and his pets. In addition to his parents of Mansfield, he is survived by 3 brothers; Paul of Mansfield, Mark of Springfield,MA. and Chris of Manchester, 4 sisters; Rani Trudeau of Willimantic, Marsha Lindstrom of Vernon, Brenda Mathews of Sparta, N.J. and Carla Sikand-Galindo of Santa Cruz, CA. and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10:30am at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, North Eagleville Rd. (UConn Campus), Storrs. Burial will follow in the Storrs Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
