Naomi Sanders

Naomi Sanders, 72, of Storrs, CT, died peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2015. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Sanders, brother-in-law, John Troyer, two nieces, and three grandnieces and nephews. Friends and family remember her kindness, her enthusiasm, her sense of humor, and especially her wonderful smile. She enjoyed music, gardening, walking, cycling, yoga, tutoring non-native speakers in English, making greeting cards, playing games, spending time with friends and family and with her beloved cat, Chloe. She was a regular at Hartford Theaterworks which she attended with a special group of friends. Naomi retired from the Transportation Institute at the University of Connecticut. She was a member of the Ashford Garden Club and an enthusiastic and well-liked volunteer at Tri-County Greenhouse in Mansfield Depot. She will be missed by all who knew her and who will always remember her smile. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the National Alliance of Mental Health (NAMI). A memorial celebration of her life is planned for spring 2016.
