Nancy H. Janes

Nancy H. Janes, 90, of Storrs, wife of the late Byron Janes, died Sunday, February 6, 2005 in Storrs. She was born May 1, 1914 in Kent, Ohio, the daughter of Wesley and Ellora (Mix) Hollister and had lived in Storrs since 1949. She was a graduate of Kent State University in Ohio and did graduate work at the University of Michigan where she met her husband. She loved music, birding, gardening, bridge and travel. She and her husband were active members of the Mansfield Senior Center. She is survived by 4 children and their spouses, Kenneth and Monika Janes of Brookline, MA, Norman and Jacqueline Janes of South Windham, Carolyn Patterson of Canfield, OH, Marshall and Ann Evans-Janes of New Hartford, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her family invites friends to join them in a remembrance of her life February 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Storrs Friends Meeting House, Hunting Lodge Rd., Storrs.
