Nancy J. Easton, 63, of Columbia, CT lost her long and courageous battle with brain cancer on July 29, 2012. Born Nancy Jean Lyman on September 15, 1948, in Hartford, CT and was raised in Eagleville, CT. She retired from the University of Connecticut, went on to work for the Real Estate Counseling Group of Connecticut in Mansfield and then was known as the "Lunch Lady" at Horace W. Porter School in Columbia, CT. She enjoyed seasonal camping at Hidden Acres Campground in Preston, CT, as well as the beach, league bowling and traveling. Nancy is survived by her mother, Anna May Lyman of Mansfield, CT and was predeceased by her father, Lyndon Harding Lyman and her husband Edward Noel Easton. Nancy leaves behind her only daughter, Carol L. Warfield, her son in law, Bruce W. Warfield and grandchildren Joseph, Louis and David all of Scotland, CT; her sister Lynda Kalinowski and her husband Robert of Columbia, CT; her sister Jane Cichon of Mansfield, CT; her brother James Lyman and wife Susan of Columbia, CT; her sister Lisa O'Rourke and her husband Martin of Columbia, CT; her mother in law, Margaret Easton of Mansfield, CT; her sister in law, Linda Lovell of Wakefield, VA; her nieces Lori, Taylor, Samantha, Deanna; her nephews David, Jared and Andrew; her beloved partner of 28 years, Wayne McKinney of Columbia, CT, and his family; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Calling hours will be Friday, August 3, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street (Rte. 195)Willimantic, CT, followed by a funeral service at Potter Funeral Home at 10:00am Saturday, August 4, 2012, for family and close friends.
