Myron Allen Manning, 71, of Branford, passed peacefully on Friday August 31, 2012 in Lisbon. Born in Willimantic on July 29, 1941 to the late R. Myron and Irene (DeMarchi) Manning, he was the husband of 30 years of Linda (Tracy) Manning. Myron grew up on the family farm in Lebanon and graduated from Lyman High School in Lebanon. He started his own trucking company and then he worked as a truck/trailer mechanic, as well as a driver for several companies including George Baum Trucking and Quality Carrier, until his retirement in 2009. Myron was an avid lover of classic Corvettes, word puzzles, The Three Stooges, Juicy Fruit gum and NASCAR racing, having attended the Daytona 500 every year since 1984 with his wife Linda. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister Barbara (Ted) Simmons, brother Raymond (Mary) Manning, daughters Deborah Kopjanski, Roberta (Ed) Ventura, 3 grandchildren Joshua (Zandra), Jasmine and Jeremy Ghiroli, 3 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Richard and David (Linda) Tracy, 2 nieces Sharon and Sheila, 2 aunts, several cousins and many close friends, especially at Deer Haven Campground in Lisbon. Myron will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, mischievous sense of humor and dry wit. Friends may call Saturday, September 8th between 1:00 and 2:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 2:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic.
